Traffic Advisory & Fourth of July Event Information – Downtown Blue Ridge
The City of Blue Ridge will implement road closures for the Independence Day celebrations, including the FREEDOM 5K and the Blue Ridge Business Association’s Old Timers Day Parade.
Road Closures – Saturday, July 4
- East Main Street and West Main Street (between Summit Street and Mountain Street) and Robert’s Way will close at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
- These closures will be lifted after the parade concludes and streets are cleared.
- Depot Street (between West Main Street and East Main Street) will remain closed until all events and cleanup are complete.
Additional Traffic Note
- Summit Street will operate under a temporary one-way traffic pattern during the Swan Drive-In’s July 4 celebration.
Important Reminders
- Please remove all vehicles from affected streets before 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
- Do not move or remove any barricades placed by City staff.
- Plan your travel and parking in advance.
Event Schedule
- FREEDOM 5K: Setup begins at 7:30 a.m. | Event concludes by 9:00 a.m.
- Old Timers Day Parade: Setup begins ~8:30 a.m. | Parade starts ~10:00 a.m.
Participants wishing to join the parade must pre-register through the Blue Ridge Business Association’s website and arrive early for lineup.
