The purpose of the human resources function is to support the goals of the City of Blue Ridge by providing services that promote a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect. We are focused on delivering quality customer service and are committed to recruit, develop, reward and retain the very best workforce.

This function is responsible for:

  • Recruitment of qualified individuals.
  • Retention of valuable employees.
  • Training, development and education to promote team and individual success and increase overall value to the City.
  • Administering compensation and benefit plans that include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability and retirement.
  • Ensures consistent practices are followed in compliance with local, state and federal law, collective bargaining agreement and City policies.
